CHICAGO, U.S.: As they recover from the initial effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, many U.S. dental offices are being prevented from seeing more patients by a lack of staff. Interview with Dr. Richard Price: The importance of a high-quality curing light

The new Bluephase PowerCure and the G4 from Ivoclar Vivadent offer more than most clinicians expect from a high-performance curing light. In addition to short polymerization times, starting from just 3 seconds from the Bluephase PowerCure when used with Tetric PowerFill or Tetric PowerFlow, these two lights support dentists through reliable polymerization performance, owing to the integrated Polyvision technology, which acts as a personal curing assistant. As pointed out by Dr. Richard Price, who is a professor of prosthodontics at Dalhousie University Halifax in Nova Scotia in Canada, and an intraoral polymerization expert, the broad emission spectrum of the Bluephase series of lights means that they will polymerize all known dental resins.

Omicron and NHS targets: Dentists in England struggle to restore services

LONDON, UK: Since the English government has decided to ease some of the COVID-19 restrictions just as the winter season has arrived, some professional bodies, including the British Dental Association (BDA), are questioning the timing of the decision. In light of the arrival of the Omicron variant and unattainable National Health Service (NHS) targets, the BDA believes that the new standard operating procedures for dentists will not help improve access to dental care in the country. This is also reflected in a recent survey that has highlighted issues about the restoration of services in the country.

Interview: Those who inspire us are always asking the question why and focus on moving forward

Asking himself why is probably what led Dr Tommaso Castroflorio to want to achieve more than simply success as a practising orthodontist. He aims at finding solutions that give his patients happiness and that achieve optimal aesthetic results and seeks to continually improve results and make them as predictable as possible. This is the reason why he teaches, does research, regularly gives conferences and is not only a member of the editorial board of the Journal of Aligner Orthodontics but also a founding member of the European Aligner Society. His presentation at the Invisalign Scientific Symposium 2021, which took place on the 2 and 3 July, focused on aligner deformation and orthodontic tooth movement predictability.
